MEET OUR STAFF

Jill Roberts

Jill Roberts grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University. She attended the University of Montevallo pursuing a Masters degree in School Counseling.

She has been married to her husband, Chris, for 32 years, and together they have two sons. Their eldest son, Jordan, is employed by UPS, and their youngest son, Tucker, is currently enrolled at Auburn University, where he is pursuing a degree in Building Science. She has lived in Auburn for 21 years.

Mrs. Roberts is a devoted member of Union Christian Church, where she faithfully serves as an elder, Christian education teacher, and choir member. She also serves on the board of the D1 Life Foundation, supporting its mission to lead others to a relationship with Jesus.

Mrs. Roberts has over 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher and views education as a calling, implementing the classical education model to cultivate both intellectual growth and Christian character in her students. In her personal life, Mrs. Roberts enjoys spending time with family, watching Auburn athletics, cooking and baking for family and friends, and decorating her home.

Maureen Fain

Maureen Fain graduated from Auburn University with a degree in family and child development. She then received her Master’s degree from Troy State University in Elementary Education. She has taught preschool 4’s, Second grade, and First grade (where she has spent most of her teaching career).

She has been married to her husband, Rob for 31 years and has four children. Grayson graduated from Auburn University last year with an elementary education degree and will be getting married in October. Cooper is a sophomore at Auburn University majoring in biomedical sciences. Phelps is a junior at Auburn High School and is on the varsity soccer team. Lyla is in 8th grade at Auburn Jr High School and is a cheerleader.

Maureen has been a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church since she moved back to Auburn in 1996. She and her family are very involved there, where she is a Eucharistic Minister, a VBS volunteer, and participates in women’s bible studies.

Her hobbies include traveling, watching Auburn sports, and going to her children’s games.

Teska Schindler

Teska Schindler is originally from Amanzimtoti, a small coastal town in South Africa. She completed her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in South Africa and began her professional journey working as a psychologist.

In 1997, she moved to the United States with her husband, where he pursued graduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin. In 2002, they relocated to Auburn, where her husband started working for Auburn University. Over the years, Teska has built a life deeply rooted in family, faith, and community, while wholeheartedly dedicating herself to working with children. She made a shift from counseling to education and has more than 15 years of experience with preschool and elementary-school children.

Outside the classroom, Teska is a devoted wife and mother to two daughters currently pursuing degrees in optometry and chemical engineering. To stay active and creative, she enjoys sewing, traveling, and challenging herself at CrossFit.

Teska is proud to be a part of the Logos community and finds great joy in serving the families and children at the school.

Kathryn Harber

Originally from Maryland, Kathryn moved to Florida to attend Pensacola Christian College and called Florida home until 2025.

She has been teaching elementary for 15 years and is grateful to work in a field she loves. In 2019, She married her husband, Steven, and together they’ve enjoyed raising a variety of farm animals over the years.

They attend Heritage Baptist Church in Opelika where she serves in the children’s ministry. When not in the classroom, you’ll find her thrifting, playing Mahjongg (new favorite hobby) or enjoying a good cup of coffee at a local spot.

Cathy Matthews

Cathy Matthews earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University in 1992. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, she and her husband, Barry, have been married for 33 years. Following Barry’s retirement from the U.S. Army in 2021, they chose Opelika as their permanent home after living in eight states and Heidelberg, Germany.

Mrs. Matthews and her husband are blessed with four children. Their son, Henry, serves as a social worker in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their daughter, Audrey, teaches English as a Second Language in Fukuoka, Japan. Hayley is pursuing a graduate degree at Auburn University, and Wesley is serving in the U.S. Army in Hawaii. They also enjoy spending time with their two beloved pets.

With 17 years of classroom experience in both public and private education, Mrs. Matthews has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, second grade, and fourth grade. She is passionate about nurturing a love of learning in young students while helping them grow in character and faith.

Mrs. Matthews is actively involved in the Children's Ministry at Parkway Baptist Church and is excited to be part of the Logos Classical Christian Academy community. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, cooking, and spending time with family.
